We’re very excited to see the launch of the new 64 bit Raspberry Pi 3!
It is a rather impressive little beast, and I love what they manage to squeeze into something selling for 25 quid. Whilst we are not keen on embedding the Pi into the sort of commercial kit that we design (mainly due to concerns over long-term availability), it is a great platform for messing about and trying things out. And of course another example of how good ARM processors are.
However what I’m really excited about is that they have decided to include Bluetooth Smart, and are touting it as an IoT hub. Yet more evidence that Bluetooth Smart is becoming the de-facto carrier for wireless IoT.
Apple Homekit is also gaining ground, and it runs over WiFi and Bluetooth Smart…
